What Is Responsible Gambling?
Responsible gambling means playing for entertainment with money you can comfortably afford to lose, within time limits you have chosen in advance, and without allowing gambling to interfere with your work, family, health or finances. At 10wln, we see responsible gambling not as a legal checkbox but as a genuine part of how the platform is built.
Pakistan has a strong cultural context around financial responsibility and family obligations. We recognise that the pressures on Pakistani households — in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar and across the country — make financial discipline especially important. Gambling should never be treated as an income source or as a way to recover financial losses.
The tools and information on this page are available to every registered 10wln player. They cost nothing to use, they can be activated immediately from your Account settings or by contacting support, and they are not reversible in ways that would undermine their protective purpose.
Healthy Gambling Looks Like
- Playing within a preset PKR budget
- Treating wins as a bonus, not expected income
- Taking regular breaks mid-session
- Stopping when you reach your loss limit
- Playing for fun, not to escape problems
Warning Signs Include
- Chasing losses after a losing session
- Gambling with money needed for essentials
- Hiding gambling from family or friends
- Feeling anxious or irritable when not gambling
- Borrowing money specifically to fund gambling
Pakistan context: Gambling has legal restrictions in Pakistan under the Prevention of Gambling Act, 1977. These tools apply to the 10wln platform and do not constitute legal advice. Players are responsible for understanding local law before participating.
Safe Play Tools on 10wln
Every 10wln player has access to the following responsible gambling tools directly from their Account settings. You do not need to contact support to activate most of these — they are part of the platform.
Deposit Limits
Set a daily, weekly or monthly cap on how much you can deposit to your 10wln Account in PKR. Once set, the limit cannot be increased instantly — increases require a mandatory waiting period to prevent impulsive decisions during a session. Decreases take effect immediately.
Loss Limits
Cap the total amount you can lose within a defined period. When your loss limit is reached, further wagering is blocked for the remainder of that period. This tool is especially helpful during PSL and ICC tournament periods when betting activity typically increases.
Session Time Limits
Set a maximum session duration after which you will receive a notification and the option to continue or end your session. This helps prevent extended play that can occur without players fully tracking how long they have been active — particularly on mobile during late-night sessions.
Cool-Off Period
Take a short break from gambling without going through a full self-exclusion process. Cool-off periods range from 24 hours to 6 weeks. During a cool-off, your Account remains registered but you cannot place wagers or make deposits. This is reversible after the period expires.
Self-Exclusion
Request a formal self-exclusion to block access to your 10wln Account for a defined minimum period or permanently. Self-exclusion is a more serious commitment than a cool-off — it requires contacting support and cannot be reversed before the exclusion period ends. All pending wagers and deposits are handled in accordance with our Terms.
Reality Check Reminders
Enable periodic in-session pop-ups that display how long you have been playing and your net win/loss for the session. These reality-check notifications are a low-friction way to stay aware of your activity without ending your session — but they give you the information needed to make an informed choice.
Set Your Own Boundaries
Daily
Reset every 24 hours. Ideal for controlling day-to-day spending in PKR.
Weekly
Reset every 7 days. Suited to players with regular weekly gaming sessions.
Monthly
Reset each calendar month. Recommended for tracking against your overall monthly budget.
Session
Applies to a single continuous play session regardless of the calendar period.
Wager
Caps the total amount you can wager (not just deposit or lose) within a period.
Decreasing any limit takes effect immediately. Increasing a limit requires a mandatory waiting period as a player-protection measure. This delay cannot be bypassed.
Self-Exclusion Explained
Self-exclusion is the most powerful responsible gambling tool available on 10wln. When you self-exclude, your Account access is blocked for the duration of the exclusion period — you cannot log in, deposit, wager, or access any gaming content on the platform. Pending wagers may be settled in accordance with 10wln's Terms & Conditions; verified real-money balances will be returned.
Self-exclusion is not reversible before the minimum exclusion period has elapsed. This is intentional — it is a commitment, not a temporary pause. 10wln will not accept any requests to shorten the exclusion period once it is active.
How to Request Self-Exclusion
- Log in to your 10wln Account
- Navigate to Account Settings → Responsible Gambling
- Select "Self-Exclusion" and choose your exclusion period
- Confirm your request
- Alternatively, email [email protected] to request exclusion directly
Exclusion Period Options
- ● 6 months (minimum recommended period)
- ● 1 year
- ● 2 years
- ● 5 years
- ● Permanent (irreversible)
Important: If you have self-excluded from 10wln or any other gambling platform and find that you are able to access gambling services, you have an obligation to contact the relevant operators immediately and refrain from gambling. 10wln will process self-exclusion requests as a priority. Please do not continue gambling while waiting for exclusion to take effect.
Warning Signs of Problem Gambling
Problem gambling can develop gradually and is often difficult to recognise from the inside. The following warning signs — drawing on patterns observed broadly in gambling harm research — may indicate that gambling is moving from entertainment to something more harmful. This is not a clinical diagnosis, but if several of these apply to you, we strongly encourage you to use the tools available on 10wln or to seek external support.
The connection between financial stress and gambling can be particularly acute in Pakistan, where family financial obligations carry significant weight. Gambling to try to solve financial problems almost always makes them worse.
Chasing losses — increasing bets or session time in an attempt to recover money already lost, rather than accepting the loss and stopping.
Betting beyond your means — gambling with money intended for household expenses, rent, utility bills, grocery bills or family obligations.
Secrecy and concealment — hiding gambling activity, deposit notifications or account statements from family members or a spouse.
Preoccupation with gambling — spending a significant amount of time thinking about past bets, planning future bets or calculating ways to fund gambling activity.
Mood changes around gambling — feeling irritable, anxious or restless when unable to gamble, or feeling that gambling is the only activity that relieves stress or boredom.
Borrowing to gamble — taking loans, using credit facilities, or borrowing from friends or family specifically to fund gambling deposits.
Failed attempts to reduce play — repeatedly setting personal limits, breaking them, and feeling unable to stick to self-imposed rules without external assistance.
Ask Yourself These Questions
This is not a clinical screening tool. But honest answers to these questions can help you gauge whether your gambling habits are staying within a healthy range. If you answer "yes" to several of these, consider using 10wln's responsible gambling tools or reaching out for support.
Have you ever gambled with money that was budgeted for something else — rent, food, bills or family expenses?
Have you found yourself increasing your stakes or deposit amounts in an attempt to win back losses from a previous session?
Do you feel restless, irritable or uncomfortable when you are not able to gamble or when you try to reduce how often you gamble?
Have you hidden or downplayed the amount of time or money you spend gambling from a partner, family member or close friend?
Have you borrowed money — from any source — to fund gambling activity, or sold personal belongings to generate gambling funds?
Has gambling caused arguments, tension or financial difficulties in your household or affected your work, studies or daily responsibilities?
Have you set personal limits on your gambling — such as time or money limits — and then broken those limits during the same session or the following day?
Do you find yourself thinking about gambling during work, prayer, family time or other daily activities when you should be focused elsewhere?
If you answered yes to three or more of the above, it may be time to use 10wln's self-exclusion or limit tools, or to seek external support. There is no shame in recognising a problem — it is the first step toward addressing it. Contact [email protected] to activate tools or request exclusion.
Support Resources
10wln provides platform tools, but external professional support exists for players who need more than an Account limit. The following types of organisations provide help for gambling-related harm.
Responsible Gambling Councils
International responsible gambling organisations — such as those associated with the operator's applicable licensing jurisdiction — provide confidential advice and support tools for players experiencing gambling harm. Details of applicable organisations are available via the operator's licensing framework. Search for responsible gambling support associated with the operator's license jurisdiction for verified resources.
Mental Health & Counselling
Problem gambling is recognised by mental health professionals as a behavioural issue that responds well to psychological support. In Pakistan, licensed counsellors and psychiatrists operating in cities such as Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi can provide confidential support. Your family doctor or a general practitioner can provide a referral.
Family & Community Support
Trusted family members, religious leaders and community advisors can play a significant role in supporting someone dealing with a gambling problem. Talking openly within your support network — whether in Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar or elsewhere in Pakistan — is an important step for many people in the recovery process.
10wln Support: Our own support team can assist you with activating any responsible gambling tool, processing a self-exclusion, or providing guidance on the options available. Contact us at [email protected]. Support is available in English with Urdu-language assistance available on request.
Protecting Younger People
10wln is strictly for adults aged 18 or older — or the higher minimum age required by the applicable operator/license jurisdiction. We take underage access seriously and apply age verification as part of our KYC process before any withdrawal is approved.
If you share a device with younger family members — whether in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad or anywhere else in Pakistan — we recommend the following precautions to prevent underage access to the 10wln platform.
- Always log out of your 10wln Account when you finish a session, especially on shared devices.
- Never save your login credentials in a browser on a shared device.
- Use device-level parental controls — available on Android and iOS — to restrict gambling-related content.
- If you believe a minor has accessed your Account, contact [email protected] immediately.
Adults Only
You must be 18 years of age or older — or meet the higher minimum required by the operator/license jurisdiction — to register an Account, make a deposit or place any wager on 10wln.
Age will be verified during the KYC process. Accounts found to belong to minors will be closed immediately and any funds returned or handled in accordance with applicable compliance requirements.
